I am humbled to be re-elected as your Sheriff for the upcoming four years. I can only begin to express the depths of my personal appreciation for the continuing honor the People of Latah County have bestowed upon me.

My enduring thanks to my family for their love, their patience and their support. You are the most precious people in my life.

My sincere appreciation to everyone who served on the “Citizens to Re-Elect Sheriff Wayne Rausch” committee and to the hardworking Citizens of this great County who exercised one of the most cherished privileges we have as Americans—that of voting.

At every election Citizens have the privilege and duty to step up and remind elected and appointed officials—myself included—of a simple fact: American Citizens are always in charge of all levels of their government. Continue to vote. Continue to demand personal accountability, transparency and truth from elected and appointed officials. And please get involved in local government programs, meetings and decisions whenever you can.

Very special credit to the courageous women and men who join me in service to the Citizens of Latah County—the Deputies, Dispatchers and Support Staff members of this Sheriff’s Office. It is a personal honor to represent you and to be member of such a highly motivated, dedicated team of professionals. The fact is, when you start with good people, the rest is easy. Together, we have accomplished great things and, with your continuing commitment to teamwork, personal integrity, and creativity, we will continue to accomplish great things on behalf of those whom we serve.

I ask and challenge everyone—Citizens, Students, Elected Officials, Appointed Officials, Businesses, Civic Groups and all members of the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice system—to join us in doing everything we can to further Latah County’s nationwide reputation as a safe place to live, work, learn, play and visit.

This website will be retired within the next few days. Our work toward the promises outlined in the Mission, Vision and Long-Range Objectives of your Latah County Sheriff’s Office will continue with enthusiasm, honor and abiding appreciation for the honor of serving.
